Peter 'L' Howard (1939 - 2010)

Memorial Concert

 

The Society will be staging a concert, in memory of the late Peter L. Howard. It will be performed at the Taliesin Arts Centre, Swansea University on Saturday 30th October 2010, and will pay tribute to Peter who was a much loved member of Cockett Amateur Operatic Society.  The Society will perform songs from shows Peter appeared in or was involved with, along with some of his favourite music.  There will be two performances, one at 5pm and one at 8pm.  In view of the number of people who will want to attend this concert we would advise early booking.

2010 Rehearsals and Auditions

 

- Rehearsals for 'Fiddler on the Roof' will commence on Thursday 8th of September 2010.

- Rehearsals for the Peter 'L' Howard Charity Concert will start from Tuesday 14th of September and will continue until the concert.

 

* Please note that both rehearsals will run along side each other.  The charity concert every Tuesday and Fiddler rehearsals every Thursday.

Fiddler auditions will take place on Sunday 3rd of October 2010.  Full details including audition pieces and times are now available in the rehearsal section.

NODA 2010 District 5 Award

(Wales and Ireland)

 

CAOS has been awarded the NODA best show award for our production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast.  Congratulations to the production team, the company and all members of the society.

 

Several members of the society attended the presentation of the award to the society by our new area representative, Mr Brian Sullivan.  The presentation took place on Thursday the 27th of May 2010 @ 7.30pm at St Illtyd's.

Membership Subs

Membership subs for the 2010 - 2011 season will need to be settled by Thursday 28th of October 2010 at the very latest.

Social Events / Fundraising

CAOS Christmas Concert

 

This years Christmas concert will take place at St Illtyd's church on Friday 3rd of December 2010.  Doors open at 6.30pm for light refreshments.  Concert to start at 7.30pm prompt.

 

Come along and enjoy traditional Carols and Christmas Stories, all performed by company members*.

Coffee and mince pies will be served after the concert in the church hall.
